Celebrity Sightings at New York Fashion Week

From the red carpet to the runway, Hollywood’s A-Listers, music’s biggest pop-stars, and fashionistas worldwide have descended upon New York City! They’re flocking together to take in the season’s newest, trendsetting designs from fashion’s most respected designers. The week-long event kicked off on September 9th and ends on the 17th; bringing about many unique and unexpected celebrity interactions.  They are spotted front row on the runway, strutting down it, or celebrating at the after-parties.  In some cases, they even throw their own!  Check out some of these celebrity sightings here!

This year Rihanna hosted a Fashion Week kick-off party on September 10 where she and rapper Travis Scott made their relationship very public.  Other celebs could be caught at NYLON magazine’s Rebel Fashion Party.


After Alexander Wang displayed his Spring 2016 collection, he threw himself a “gentleman’s club” themed 10 year anniversary after-party at Pier 69.  The event was catered by Hooters and drew in a celebrity guest list including The Weekend and his girlfriend Bella Hadid, Lady Gaga, Miguel, Zoe Kravitz, and Kanye West.


One of the week’s highlights was Givenchy’s debut runway show at NYFW!  Ricardo Tisci, with the aide of artist Marina Abramović, created a truly inspiring, edgy, and eclectic runway show with the NYC skyline as the backdrop.  It was truly a beautiful and fitting tribute to the city on the anniversary of the horrible events that took place on September 11, 2001.  The guest list was top notch as well.  It included: Julia Roberts, Nicki Minaj, Mr. & Mrs. Kanye West, Courtney Love, Steven Tyler with daughter Liv Tyler, Ciara, Laverne Cox, and Hailee Steinfeld…to name a few.


In another tribute to a geographical region, Pabral Gurung paid homage to his homeland of Nepal.  After the devastating earthquake that hit in April, Gurung was inspired from the culture and colors of his home and wanted honor his heritage. The show, which took place at Skylight Moynihan, began with a recital of chants and prayers from 24 Nepalese monks.  Front row guests included, Jennifer Hudson, Kylie Jenner, Solange, Gabrielle Union, and Jaime King.
