Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice

The holidays are upon us which means it’s time to mingle and jingle under the mistletoe. Being the it-girl you are, the invites will come pouring in for this year’s holiday parties; or you just may be having an event of your own. Whatever the case, cocktails are in order to liven the party and keep you and the guests cozy from the winter chill. Here are a few of our favorite holiday beverage recipes…Cheers!

Frozen Cranberry Margaritos

  • 1 (10-oz) can frozen mojito mix
  • ¾ cup tequila
  • ¼ cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of orange liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • Ice
  • Combine the first 5 ingredients in a blender. Add ice and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

Gingerbread Martini

  • Ginger liqueur
  • Crushed gingersnaps
  • 2 tablespoons ginger liqueur
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla-citrus liqueur
  • 1 ½ tablespoons coffee-flavored rum
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons whipping cream
  • Ice
  • Garnish: Partially split vanilla sticks rolled in sugar
  • Dip glass rims in ginger liqueur and crushed gingersnaps. Store glasses in freezer up to 2 days. Stir together 2 Tbsp. ginger liqueur, vanilla-citrus liqueur, coffee-flavored rum, honey, and whipping cream in a cocktail shaker. Add ice cubes; cover with lid, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled (about 30 seconds). Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish, if desired.

Jingle Juice

  • 5 cups orange juice
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1/3 cup orange liqueur
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup maraschino cherry juice
  • Garnishes: fruit-flavored candy canes, cherries with stems, orange and lemon slices
  • Stir together orange juice and next 4 ingredients; serve over ice. Garnish, if desired. Note: If you don’t have orange liqueur, such as Triple Sec, substitute an equal amount of orange juice.

Cherry Frost

  • 3 tablespoons black cherry liqueur
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 4 tablespoons sparkling white wine
  • Ice
  • Garnish: maraschino cherries
  • Combine black cherry liqueur, brandy, and crushed ice in a cocktail shaker. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled (about 30 seconds). Strain into a Champagne flute, and top with sparkling white wine. Garnish, if desired.

Merry Berry Christmas, Sugar: (The kids don’t need to be left out on this one)

  • 5 fresh raspberries
  • 4 fresh blueberries
  • 2 fresh blackberries
  • 1 ½ tablespoons light agave nectar
  • 5 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons ginger ale
  • Ice
  • Garnish: halved fresh raspberries and blackberries
  • Muddle 5 fresh raspberries, blueberries, 2 fresh blackberries, light agave nectar, mint leaves, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Stir in crushed ice and water. Cover with lid, and shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled (7 to 10 seconds). Pour mixture into a 16-oz. glass, and top with ginger ale. Garnish, if desired.
