Stargazing at the Tropicana Bar

In Los Angeles, there is more than one way to stargaze; and there is no better place to gaze at proverbial and real stars than at the Tropicana Pool Bar.

Located at the famous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the Tropicana Pool Bar is a gorgeous retreat right in the middle of a bustling city. The bar surrounds the famed David Hackney pool of the hotel. Set amidst verdant shrubs and towering palm trees, the Tropicana Bar features cozy fireplaces, and luxurious VIP seats all situated amongst the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotels’ famous elite cabana rooms.

The 150 square foot patio can house up to 150 people, making it the ideal venue for private pool parties and intimate get-togethers. The neighboring Room 100 hospitality suite can accommodate another 200 people if additional space is required for big events.

If you are looking to spot celebrities, stars frequently hole up and chill out at the Tropicana Bar, often occupying the VIP section of the place which is situated between the pool and the lavish Cabana rooms, bordering the relaxing outdoor lounge. When not taking a break from filming, celebrities also often throw private parties here at the Tropicana Pool Bar.

The vibe at this Hollywood hotspot is very sultry and a bit old school, yet very hip and trendy. Aside from celebrities, the crowd at this place is comprised mainly of Hollywood execs and gorgeous young people, mostly aspiring actors.

In the mornings, guests can go sunbathing or celeb watching while they have grilled salmon or chicken cob bacon, blue cheese, egg avocado and tomato. The dress code is high end resort wear. At night, it is time to wear Manolo Blahniks and put on something sexy. Guests can dine on Tropicana Bar’s signature entrées, sandwiches and burgers before partying. The Tropicana Bar has an impressive list of drinks, from wines served by the glass to cocktails and margaritas. Their drinks are little on the expensive side, but what would you expect from a popular Hollywood hangout like this? Guests can enjoy drinks like the Marilyn Suite or Miami Vice while they lounge under the night sky or groove to the beat.

If you are planning on visiting the Tropicana Bar with friends, it is highly recommended to reserve bottle service because if you are a guest of the Hollywood Roosevelt, the door policy is very tough and it is often hit-and-miss with couples and groups.

If you are looking for a hip Hollywood hangout where you can have fun but without the crazy and outrageous vibe of most L.A. night clubs, the Tropicana Bar at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is the ideal hotspot for you; a place where you can relax and enjoy under the stars – or amongst them.
